Middle School Science Highlights
Middle school science is full of adventure! Our sixth grade learns all about Earth Science. Activities this year include making an earthquake kit and building a volcano. Seventh graders explore Life Science. This year we learn all about the parts of the cells and their functions. We also experience the microscopic world using microscopes. Later in the year, we learn about heredity and genes. In eighth grade we explore the exciting world of Physical Science. We experience Newton’s Third Law by building scooters and do a variety of labs involving both chemistry and physics. All classes close the year by participating in the School of Our Lady science fair.
Middle School Mathematics Highlights
At School of Our Lady, we believe that math is best learned when each child works at a comfortable level that is challenging without being frustrating. By using the Saxon Math program, students build upon each skill while being given sufficient time to master each concepts. Eighth grade students are given the opportunity to take Algebra if they have demonstrated adequate knowledge in basic math. The tutoring program helps to insure that all students can be successful.
